the wedding girl's Fantastic Fall Reading List!

Alright, its official, Fall is here! It's a chilly one out there today, but as you've probably already guessed I am pumped! No time to pull out the Fall wardrobe this morning since its been relatively warm all week, but tomorrow, watch out! I'll be rocking some of Fall's finest!

I've decided to do a book list again! I did one at the beginning of the summer and it was quite popular. As previously mentioned, I love when other bloggers suggest books, that's where I've found some of my favorite authors! So, without further ado, here are the wedding girls Top 10 Books for The Fall:

I Am Number Four, By Pittacus Lore

I know that many people probably don't take me for Sci Fi gal. Rightfully so, but in the past year I've attempted to branch out and I've discovered that I really enjoy all sorts of different genres. Imagine that. I picked up this book based on a recommendation and I couldn't put it down! The story draws the reader in immediately! I am currently reading the second book from this series and then will sadly have to wait for the third! I won't spoil what the story is about because on synopsis alone I would have dismissed this one, but trust me, its worth a read!

I Don't Know How She Does It, By Allison Pearson

This is a book I've been excited to read for a while and now that the movie is coming out, I'm even more stoked to hurry up and devour it before seeing the film! Plus, SJP is one of my favs! I miss Carrie Bradshaw on a pretty regular basis. Anyways, this is the story of a woman who literally does it all! Kids, husband, great job! Sounds pretty perfect right, this woman must be quite the juggler! I've always been interested in those Mom's who want to be all things to all people, is it possible?? I can't wait to read this story!

Moneyball, By Michael Lewis
This is another book I probably wouldn't have picked up on my own. The fact that it is a movie that is showing at TIFF (The Toronto Film Festival) and is getting pretty great ratings is helping peak my interest. But the real reason I am excited to read this book is because its by the same author as The Blindside, one of my favorite stories! I made a deal with my boyfriend that I would read this baby and see the movie, if he started Harry Potter! Quite the deal if you ask me, being that the Potter Series is my all time number 1 favorite series of all time. The other thing I love about this story is its true and its about an underdog! There is nothing more I fancy then an uplifting story of people who deserve some good!

What's Your Number, By Karyn Bosnak
At this point I've realized all of the books I've chosen are now movies...interesting. I'll have to break away from that trend for the next few books. "What's Your Number?" is essentially about what it takes to find "Mr. Right", its a smart, sassy comedic read that touches on every girls journey at some point! The author, Karyn Bosnak, is a hilarious woman and I highly recommend this book! A book about love? Clearly I would be all about that!

Anybody Out There, By Marian Keyes

This is one of my favorite books! I read it years ago and just re-read it again, recently. It is such a great story, I can't really tell you the synopsis because it will give away the story, but just know it's truly wonderful. It's one of those books that has you laughing and crying all in one read! Mariam is such a gifted writer, she really makes you feel as if you're part of the story! Gosh, I wish she would come out with a new book soon!

Then Came You, By Jennifer Weiner
Another hit out of the park from Jennifer Weiner. She is definitely another one of my favorite authors! I was so excited when I heard this book was coming out, it's a story heard from multiple points of view! That is pretty much my favorite flavor of book! I love hearing things from different views, sometimes the character that you thought you were going to hate ends up having a motive driving them that you didn't even consider! It's a lot like real life, there really are 2 sides to every story and people can often be judgemental without knowing both! This story also explores the controversy of surrogates and egg donors, something I find so interesting. I found myself rooting for these characters, so wrapped up in their individual stories. Couldn't put it down!

The Best of Me, By Nicholas Sparks
This man has yet to disappoint me. This is Sparks' newest novel, hitting the stands October 11th! I can't wait to read his newest story. If you've seen The Notebook (and how could you not have seen it, it's my favorite!) then you know, Sparks is quite the romantic. Many of his love stories have been made into movies, but lets face it, the book is usually better! This one is about high school sweethearts that were ripped apart and brought back together some time later. Sounds like something I will throughly enjoy! So if you're a Nicholas Sparks fan and even if you're not, I highly recommend any of his heartwarming stories to brighten your day!

Roses, By Leila Meacham
If you've read The Thorn Birds or Gone With The Wind and loved them, this is the book for you! It's twisted tale of familes set in Texas in the early 1900's leading up to the present. I really enjoyed this book, I thought I might find it a tad boring, but I was totally swept up in the story and scandals! It's a long book, so ensure you have some time to dedicate to this baby, you won't want to put it down!

The Forgotten Garden, By Kate Morton
If you're looking for a good mystery with tons of twists and turns, look no further. The story starts with a young girl that is found at a harbour in Austraila. It's the 1800's she is found completely alone, with a tiny suitcase full of fairytales. No one is looking for her, there is no record of her on the boat. So who is she and where did she come from? Such a powerful story of families, love, protection and intrigue!
Divergent, By Veronica Roth

If you've read and couldn't put down The Hunger Games then I beg you to pick up Divergent! This is a new series by first time author Veronica Roth. I found it to be a bit darker then The Hunger Games, but had many of the same themes. I cannot wait for the sequal to come out early 2012!

So, those are my Top 10 Fall Books, I hope you all have some time this coming season to snuggle up with a tea and great book. As promised, these all come highly recommended!! Please feel free to pass along any book suggestions of your own in the comments section! Happy reading :)
