Weddi-quette Wednesday!

Getting your marriage license can be one of the most fun things about planning a wedding. I know you've probably all had to re-read that sentence because it sounds completely ridiculous, but its true. Its something you get to do together and it makes everything feel so real! A couple of things to note about a marriage license in Ontario:
  • They are good for 3 months, anywhere in Ontario, from the day you get it. I suggest going a few weeks before the wedding, just in case there are any issues
  • They cost $140.00, unless you're getting married in a church, then it differs
  • You will receive the certificate 3 months after your actual wedding
  • You need 2 pieces of photo ID, when applying. A drivers license and passport work beautifully!
  • I went through the City of Toronto, you can download the form there and fill it out before you go, everyone will think you're super organized! Just head to city hall, which is super convenient if you work in the city. Remember, they're only open from 8:30am-4:15pm
  • After the wedding you mail it out and can expect your certificate 3 months after the actual wedding, you will have to pay $15.00 at that point to pick it up
I hope these fun tips help you out and good luck during this exciting process!
