Weddi-quette Wednesday!

:( No Top 10 Tuesday this week, between being sick at the beginning of the week and trying to play catch up at work, I couldn't finish the fun I had in store for you! So I will post it tomorrow, think of it as a special Top 10 Thursday, I promise it'll be worth the wait! I've decided to change things up a bit this week and pass around the blogging love to some of my other fellow bloggies! So stay tuned for that tomorrow!

But today is Wednesday, which we all know means time for a little lesson in etiquette! With the holiday season quickly approaching (December next week?!?! This cannot be true!) the holiday party invites are going to start pouring in! So, what are some tips to assist you in being the BEST Holiday host ever?! I've read a couple of different articles and am happy to be able to share some hostessing tips.

  • When coming up with the guest list, ensure to keep it fresh and fun. You don't want any silly drama at your party! Make sure you invite people that will mingle happily with others and bring a little fun to the party (not too much fun, if ya know what I mean)
  • Organization...this is a MUST. Every event planner knows that the more preparation you put into something the smoother it will flow!
  • Work Back Schedules. This goes along with the previous point, why risk missing out on something? If you write everything down in a super fun spreadsheet, not only will you look like a serious party planner, but you won't miss a thing!
  • Come up with a sassy menu! Or, my personal favorite, make it a pot-luck! Why not take a bit of the burden off of yourself, this is supposed to be exciting for you as well. It's also a great way to get the conversation flowing, guests can discuss what they brought, recipes, really riveting stuff!
  • Music! This is a biggie, make sure to have a nice mix of music! You certainly don't want people falling asleep, but I'm sure you don't want your humble abode to become a hot dance club. A little Mariah Carey, some Michael Buble...some Justin Bieber if you'd care to dabble in his newest Christmas offering.
At the end of the day there are no real "secrets" to throwing a great party. Good food, fun guests and excellent music are the pillars, from there just plan wisely so that you're able to enjoy as well!

Next week we will be discussing fun Holiday decorations! Here is a sneak peak and some of my inspiration for a cozy Christmas.
Looks downright magical!
