Weddi-quette Wednesday!

Woo hoo hump day! And today I'm going to share some of the fun and exciting updates I know you've all been patiently waiting for about my wedding!

I think we've finally found our venue! It is super important, when venue hunting, to note some key things.
  • Obviously, first and foremost, you want to like the space. You and your partner are going to want to be able to picture the big day taking place there. DON'T SETTLE!
  • Then you're going to want to consider some logistics
    • Is there more then enough parking?
    • Do they allow guests to park overnight? (This is key, if you have a heavy drinking crowd)
    • Are the washrooms clean and large enough. (You can bet if they didn't bother to clean them for your site visit, you might have some issues for the wedding)
    • Will they allow people to come in early enough for set up (this is also key, so your wedding planner doesn't throw herself under a moving car because she only has 45 minutes to set up)
    • What does the venue rental cost include?
    • Will they make you turn down the music at a certain time?
    • Do they have a liquor license? OR will you need to get one? (This is super simple and I will tell you how to do that in an upcoming post)
    • Is there a place for the bride and groom (and their attendants) to separately get ready?
    • Will there be someone on site the day of? OR should you hire a day of coordinator?
    • Can you take photo's wherever you'd like? (This is an important question to ask, especially at golf courses, most will not let you on the actual course for safety reasons)
    • Is the venue close to hotels and taxi accessible? (You want to have options if folks will be drinking)
    • Will they charge you and outside catering fee, if that is the route you decide to take.
    • And the list could go on forever! Those are some key points to get you started!
  • Are there lots of great photo ops? The more options the better and easier to take your photos.
  • Here is the biggest, most important one of all.....is it in your budget?? At the end of the day, it's not worth going into major debt for. Keep looking, you'll find something else you love.
I will share the final decision when the papers have been signed! We're going to be using a tent hopefully, so they're a lot of logistics around that, which is why the process is taking a bit longer. The venue, in question, allows Mr. wedding girl and I to do everything ourselves and be totally hands on, which is what I wanted! Fingers crossed everything falls into place this week and then the real fun begins!

This is what I want my bouquet to look like!! SO pretty!!
