Wedding Show season is upon us. With an influx of Holiday engagements, the wedding world is out in full gear the next couple of months. Special wedding magazines hit the shelves, wedding shows are happening all over the place and newspapers are running special sections.
I am personally participating in my first wedding show this year! If you're in the York Region area, feel free to stop by the Angus Glen Wedding Show on February 18th! Yours truly will be there, along with a bunch of other fabulous vendors! I am also in a Toronto Star article running mid-January, so make sure to keep an eye out for that!
Now, how do you decide which show to attend? How many is too many? What is the best of the best? Well, these are all great questions, with so many different shows to chose from, it's hard to decide which one will best suit you. Most shows are equipped with a website, I urge you to check it out ahead of time, they usually list all of the vendors and sometimes have deals on tickets. This will benefit you, so that you have an idea of what you're getting yourself into. For example, the fabulous WedLuxe Show is this weekend in Toronto. I will be attending and enjoying all of its fabulousness, but I wouldn't say it's a show for the DIY bride. While you may go and get some great idea's, most vendors there are the top of the line, expensive ones. I'm just going to see what all of the fuss is about!
At the end of the day, as with every other step of your wedding, be true to yourself and what you want out of the big day. Don't go to 10 different shows if you already have an idea of what you want things to look like and what vendor's you want to use. It's a waste of money and some of these people can be very in your face and showy.
I hope this helps put a little perspective on the beginning of Wedding Show Season and all of it's glory! Good luck and enjoy the WedLuxe Show if you're attending this weekend.
